Sonogno is the very last village of the Verzasca Valley (Valle Verzasca) located in the Canton of Ticino, southern Italian speaking part of Switzerland. The Italian speaking village is mostly crowded with visitors during the day, but towards the later afternoon when the tourist busses have left the village, it will reveal its natural beauty to those who stay over night at the hotel or one of the summer cottages, or - like we did - for bed and breakfast at a local family.
We actually stated there for two nights, spending our time with hiking, walking around and eating at one of the local restaurants. We think that it would be worth to staying one or two weeks there, enjoying the healthy climate, green nature and the quiet ambiance of the picturesque village.
