Fantom G External Keyboard Control Part 1

This is a video that I have been wanting to make for sometime. I know many of us are not the greatest when it comes to understanding and using MIDI, but I think with a little bit of work and practice we can really take advantage of it. The Fantom G can control up to 16 midi channels in Live and Studio modes, but I figured I would explain how to control one channel first. Practice this video and soon I will show you how to control multiple channels from different keyboards at the same time! After that we will move on to recording these channels in Studio and then Resampling them.

Hey man...just wondering how to do this on the Fantom X. I don't have the option to enter the msb/lsb like you do on the G. How would I do it?

@tizzizzailslf04 I believe you do it in Performance/Mixer mode, but you sacrifice one of the Internal MIDI channels to do it. I'm on the road right now, but I'll have it up in December. Take care, -Ed.

Hello Ed.. I was browsing through youtube and saw that your know well about midi. I was hoping you can help me plug a Yamaha Motif XS Rack to my Fantom G8? How can I extract the sound from the rack to the Fantom?

@MrHelyas10 Hello, the Motif XS rack should hook up the same way as the Motif keyboard that I used in this video. I don't have a Motif rack so I will have difficulty shooting a video on it. Give it a try and I bet it will work. Good luck, -Ed.

have you worked with the superpack exspansion set off roland webpage? do i jus load the .prj file once n save it to internal? also u stated FG mdi out -> in Motif , so leave the in of FG n Out of Motif alone correct?
