I use it for braid to braid joins too. You are simply whipping one line around the other, which means it does not cut into itself or the 2nd line. The long narrow whipped knot lays flat on a reel spool and does not foul the guides on your rod. Believe me, with a little care, it works very well.

Is this specifically for braid to mono. Or would you go for an easier knot if you were doing braid to braid.

i have problem with most knot as it hit the guide..

@amuk666 Should work fine. The whipping of the braid line around the mono does lie very flat. That whipping is as strong as the line you are using as it does not cut into itself at any point. The problem could lie with the thickness of the mono. which can catch your tip guide. You might like to try heating the end of the mono line to form a blob. Don't use excessive heat or it may weaken the line. Now whip the braid line around the mono. It should easily stand up to a full cast.

Glad to be of help. I have used this Double Grinner to successfully whip 100 lb BS mono onto 80 lb BS Braid myself. No problem. I trust you will catch some truly memorable fish.

Yes it works fine with all diameters of Braid. Thin braid lines are a little more fiddly than the thicker diameters. Provided you can whip the mono around the braid line too most diameters of mono are fine with this knot. 250 lb mono would pose a real problem, but the thinner diameters are easy.
