@donosborn I've worked in a biochemistry lab for about a year now where we use the same pyrex glassware that you're using in this video, and it is indeed very durable stuff. Visible wearing of the glass would really be the only concern, but clicking/clinking sounds don't seem to be too bad. We rarely replace glassware unless it has been dropped or cracked from clumsiness (usually on my part).

Well, it is what it is. I can't fathom how it spinning in the center would wear the glass down so that it would break, esp when it is that Pyrex type of glass that can even stand direct heat. I guess I will find out in another 25 years of use. :)

like months of use not just one day

its not supposed to click like that, that means the stir bar is off center or spinning too slow. Its bouncing around basically, this will break your flask after using it for awhile.

Geez. This video sent me lunging for the motion sickness bag!
Nice stirring device, Osborn.
Maybe magnets are pressed by the weight of starter,if u can ease on weight or try to lift it up a bit u can c.

Hmm, I could put another coaster or two underneath the flask and see if that changes it. But I think it is fine as it is.
Thanks for the feedback. That is great you've gone to AG and are making some good beers. Congratulations. It's really fun and rewarding.
cheers
