This is my experimental beginner cover of a beautiful song from the soundtrack for Oliver Stone's motion picture "Natural Born Killers". According to the studio, the rights to this song are in limbo. On the soundtrack the song is credited to A.O.S., which is not a band name, and "O.S." probably stands for Oliver Stone.

Even if you didn't like the movie, you must admit the soundtrack is amazing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_Born_Killers_%28soundtrack%29

Anyway, this video is an experiment. For a while now I wanted to do duetos with my friends, and I wanted to see how difficult it would be to produce a video from several clips and how to synchronize them.

I also had an idea for this video to sample piano and guitar and put them on the loop to amplify the effect of "history repeating itself" (as in video on the loop, get it?). But the process turned out to be technologically very challenging, as the sum of each individual part's length was very difficult to match to the total length of the clip -- the parts would either overlap or have gaps between them. I'd probably finish it if I was unemployed, but I've got a day-time job :)
Also would like to add a disclaimer that I don't know how to play piano -- it's all ebony and ivory to me. I just played by ear and "pressed here and there". So don't send me hate mail. I think I made it clear that I'm just a beginner who loves music and singing. That's how I get though the day.

  • Nice one! Great cover

  • @stefano118118 Thanks a lot! I love that song, and the entire soundtrack for "Natural born killers"!

  • Nice job. I've finally started to get better at the multi-tracking thing myself. One of your best efforts yet. Its very satisfying when it works.

  • @Hawk1964 Indeed. It was my first attempt at it, and fortunately, it worked out well, in my opinion. I have another new video with 5 separate tracks combined, and, even though it was a nightmare for editing and recording, the results are descent and I have learned a lot from it about recording at home and editing.

  • max, this is awesome !

  • @MsRakoe Thanks for listening, MsRakoe!

  • Psalm 144:9

I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.

  • If I'm not mistaking this songs was written and recorded by the Dutch artist Fay Lovsky together with Klaus Buhlert.

  • @stuartramsden1 I'm struggling too. "Birth pains" :) It was a fun project, no doubt. Now I need a drummer.
