Legendary Chicago paddler, naturalist, maritime historian and blacksmith Ralph Frese. This was on Chicago Public TV station WTTW's "Chicago Tonight" program.
The video response that I posted is of a trip I made with my grandson in a Candienne which Ralph designed and which I purchased from him. It was one of the best purchases I ever made. Absolutely great canoe.. thanks to Ralph.
Awesome video! Thank you for all the information. I love to learn about Canoing. Thanks for sharing this with us. Hat's off to Ralph Frese. Peace, Paul
What a tremendous feature by Channel 11. Ralph Frese is definitely someone you should know about. I am not sure how Charles Kuralt missed this man.

Ralph is a fine gentleman, a real character, and a master craftsman and I feel honored to have met him.
