@bullmoose1969 same here. mine is picky about bed time. he we were cuddeling and i said im going to go to bed and he turned around to snip at me and nicked the bridge of my nose pretty good. he was in deep trouble for that. (he knew what he did was bad and he kept trying to be a suck up for the next day or so) but hes slowly getting better. he growls but does what he is told. like a little kid who doesnt want to go to bed. the little tantrum to their room.
dont let him growl. with a great dane u going to be able to touch him will sleeping taking away his food and so, then ofcourse if he want to be alone or wanna eat alone then he should be able to say that but...
You shouldn't let him get away with growling at you at all in my opinion. Smack him in the mouth lightly and say no loudly. He may try to dominate you or one of your family one day over food and then someone might end up getting bit. If you back down then you'll have a real problem. You want to be able to bother him when he is sleeping, take his food away, kick him off chairs, couches etc. without incident. I've had great danes and had to learn the hard way.
hahaha!! What a cutie!! We have an 8 week old harlequinn mis marked female Great Dane pup who joined our family yesterday.. soooo beautiful!! Your Dane is gorgeous!!
