My '93 Cherokee is making this same noise, I thought it might be piston slap in cylinder 1. Gonna replace it Saturday, hopefully that clears the issue. How tough was the job?

My 95 is doing the same I bought a water pump hopefully it fixes it

THAT SOUND!?! That was a water pump! I own a 92 Cherokee Laredo and it runs great but I cant imagine that to be a water pump.... but if thats what it was then Im amazed.

wheres ur secondary fan?!?! does it ever over heat?

Sounds like it. It may not be leaking, but the bearings are going out.

I took the mechanical fan out and replaced it with a Ford Taurus fan. Worked great, never overheated in traffic.
