@SolidSnake032486 I am in my last year of Master in the Audio Visual arts and I am writing a short screenplay for an outer space adventure movie that will be produced in march and released in september. Check my youtube page if you are interested.

I have a niggling suspicion that it'll be disappointing and the space jockeys' origin story is going to end up seeming lame.
I hope I'm wrong.

@KaitainCPS I'm rather hesitant about Prometheus but I'm also curious to see it, from what we've seen so far the elements of the Alien universe are still there so is looking like an Alien Prequel, maybe it was a good idea to make this movie more original, like what James Cameron did in Aliens, it was a continuation of Alien story line but took things in a new direction making it a sequel but also significant enough to stand out as it's own film. Lets hope Ridley Scott doesn't do a George Lucas

You read his script too? i read it from the alien bluray special features. Did you look at the prometheus pictures and see the trailer? i think ridley has put unused ideas from the O'bannon script into the film. such as the dome which contains a huge monument and thousands of Urns. and i think ridley is using the concept that O'bannon originally intended which was the urns contained a virus which turnsand transforms the host into a violent species

Can we not compare avatar to alien. Alien was a thrilling masterpiece, but James Cameron is no slouch. Avatar is the continuation of the Pocahontas cliche, but so were some great movies like Lawrence of Arabia and Dances with Wolves. I mean come on, star wars was a rescue the princess story and it still kicked ass. Avatar was fun, but Alien was a visceral mindfuck that i'll never forget. But let's not be ironic hipsters that trash other things to feel a false sense of superiority. k?
