  • What??? No part of what you said made sense. You imply that all liberals are inherently likeable -- that the entire political spectrum is defined by whether or not you're a nice guy. That's flat-out retarded: politics and manners aren't the same thing, and sweeties and bastards are distributed evenly. And O'Rourke is no sweety. He called the Clinton admin "lap-dogs...returning to the vomit of liberalism; ...muck-dwelling bottom feeders, tending that sow that eats her young: the Welfare State".

  • @Claronium780

You are only so convinced of utopian ideologies because you have no background in economics... study the principle of productivity and reassess your statement.

  • @SackToucher Then give more to the government. No one is stopping you. Leave me the fuck alone though.

you can write another check after tax day.

  • PJ O'Rourke is a fucking clown

  • @jakeyw11 My thoughts exactly!!!

  • Wow... 1998 and PJ predicts Trump should be on a TV show. Gotta admit he was right on that one.

  • Socialism is a very good idea, but I'm not poor so I don't want it. If the poor people gain political power and this country becomes socialist. I'd still be happy. Capitalism is a blight on society and the overly conservative hypocrites who preach that God does not want this, God does not want that seem to be unaware of how greedy they themselves are. I make 260k a year, please, redistribute my wealth

  • That is what liberals don't get. You can't make a society better off by taking wealth from a few and giving it to the poor. It might help the poor for a short time but in the long run everyone suffers. The poor become dependant & never do for themselves. This creates multi generational poverty and the rich eventually don't see the point in putting in more effort if they don't get a reward for that effort. Why work 60 hr weeks & be on call 24/7 if there is no benefit in it? Pretty simple concept

  • Great interview, great insight. O'Rourke's too smart for the audience.

  • Well, O'Brien is a democrat :'( and O'Rourke is a libertarian. So their politics doesn't go well together, I guess that's why Conan is being, a bit rude. (I'm a libertarian as well)

  • wooow O'Rourke is soo far from funny or remotely interesting.....

  • @pedrodemellodotnet Yeah, I agree, O'Brien's intelligent, and has a unique sense of humor that should mesh well with a National Lampooon guy like O'Rourke. I like O'Rourke, both for his humor and his politics, and I think he's a good guy, but he's a bit odd, and he may be an egomaniac; maybe O'Brien saw something we didn't.
