Go for a quality air filter a K&N 57i or something, those air filters sold at halfords and motorworld are awful, they make the car sound like its farting.

darthjerky: you have to modified you air filter sensor.. which you have to put additional attachment to the sensor... you can find it in car accessories shop..

i m not a real car export but i tested it in my car same exact thing nd then i noticed that there are 2 wire connecting to my stock air filter box 1 of them was air flow sensor nd other 1 was air temp sensor maybe in ur car its a same thing ps mine is 99 corolla
