"Do you believe in love at first sight?"
"I don't know, but it saves an awful lot of time."
Is that great, or what?

I bet she was a blast to be with!

@MissMaybellen Nothing negative so don't worry but I don't agree at ALL. Mae West was brilliant and she wrote most of all her screen plays and the world of cinema has never seen or will ever see such an original star as Mae West. LEGENDARY

I'm probably gonna get a whole lot of negative comments on this, but I've seen this clip and the movie 'i'm no angel' and seems as if May West plays the same character and that character isn't very nuanced. I do enjoy her funny character, but it gets kinda old after 30 minuets. I know she was probably revolutionary in sense of liberating women and female sexuality, but here her acting isn't that good. Do any of you know if there's a movie with her that has a more nuanced character?

Wish I had her confidence!
-
Did Mae West write her own dialogue? That was amazing.

Thank you for posting! Do you have the whole movie? She IS the BEST ever! I loovveee her!!!

One of the greatest and most famous debut performances in the history of Hollywood. "Goodness had EVERYTHING to do with it!"

I can't even begin to describe how happy this clip makes me every time I see it. Seems impossible to miss someone you've never met, but I feel that way about Mae West. What a dame!
