Magnaflow XL 3 on a 98' Silverado Z71

this is an update to my last viedo called exhaust progression. sense then i have added 4" chrome tips and got rid of the crap x-pipe my new muffler man called a "mickey mouse" pipe...lol. i put in a Magnaflow tru-flow x-pipe and upped the size to 2 1/2" to match everything else i have done. now i just need to finnish off with some headers and i am set. if you dont know, the exhaust is factory manifolds, 2" down from factory to two cats that are removed, stepped up to 2 1/2" at the tru-flow x-pipe, into two 2 1/2" Magnaflow XL 3 mufflers, and out two 4" chrome tips.

+1 on the exhaust! Watched a couple of your videos, and I think you hit the mark with this one. Deep and throaty without the rasp/pop at high revs. If you get a chance I'd like to hear a flyby and take-off with your new setup! Getting a new 4l60e put in my '98(200k so I'm not that bummed) and first thing I'm doing when she's done is putting new exhaust on her. This put some great ideas in my head, thanks!

@madlaman thanks! it did take a few attempts to get the sound right...i really wanted a dumped set up, but couldnt get it right. this truck has only 128K miles so i really hope my 4l60e last that long! if i were to do it over, i would try this set up with the cats still on because it does get a little harsh at times...but over all it sounds great. i will make the video, but it will be April before i can because im deployed. so keep a look out!

That sounds great! Throaty, deep tone and when you open it up there's no raspy BS. I want to go with this exact set up on my 97 Z71. The only difference is I'll be running cats with mine. How much drone do you have in the cab when driving down the highway at cruising speed? So if I understand things that will be the only difference between mine and yours, and maybe the cats will eliminate any drone there might be??? By the way, I have to run cats....emissions test. Thanks for any help.
