I found this on the net. It's the 1981 trailer for the sci-fi actioner EFNY. Great preview that doesn't reveal much except the concept, the character of Snake and the grim, violent, future that awaits us.
This is what made going to the movies so much fun.

It won't be films and music on the big screen, it will come from YT channels if anywhere. That's where the indie scene is now mostly.

Already played it, awesome game, but its tone was very different from the movie's gritty and bizarre atmosphere. Also, I'd like it better if it was TPS.

the thing about Blade Runner is that I don't see it as cyberpunk. Escape is more cyberpunk to me. BR is my fav-film of all time. Escape is also on the list though.

Though Blade Runner gets most of the credit, Escape from New York also deserves credit as an influence on the cyberpunk genre. Particularly Neuromancer. William Gibson modeled Armitage loosely on Snake Plissken and the capsule device in Escape was an influence on the protagonist's organ sabotage in Neuromancer.

People praising Metal Gear in a Escape from New York clip is like walking up to Bela Lugosi and praising him for playing Boris Karloff's sidekick in the Invisible Ray. In other words Kojima is not fit to smell Carpenter's shit.
