  • I wish he could have lived 200 years, but you can see he lived every moment to its fullest. What joy! What genius! Go Lenny!

  • @Dionysosable He was the greatst American conductor. But Toscanini was not stiff. He may have stuck to the printed score, but that doesn't make him stiff.

  • Would like to have seen more of this, especially the LSO of 1967. If the camera had swivelled the right way we might very well have seen some interesting musical personalities eg James Galway on principal flute.

  • @diragusa the guy in the middle, at the contrabasses, from 1:35 to 1:45 looks like Klemperer...really creepy... :///

  • @boat4812448 It's the first volume.

  • Near the end of the 3rd movement.

  • Too Stiff ???? What are you talking about jomill78 ? If you spoke about otto Klemperer or worse Arturo Toscanini , you could speak about stiffness!!

Bernstein was one of the greatest rythmic souls in music ever. And the greatest conductor who ever lived period!!

  • From wich part of Shostakovich simphony No. 5 is this?

  • hes still to stiff

  • @bt10ant

The Art of Conducting, Volume 1 (there are only two volumes, so it wouldn't hurt buying them both :-) )
