Does Washington Get It?

I have my own opinion answering this question but I would like to know you think. Do those in Washington really understand what is happening in this country to the common people? Do they get what the true situation of our economy is and what caused it, what will drive it down even more, or what to do about how to stop the decline and restore us to growth?

They get it alright..but what they get is not what their obligations are under the constitution.

There are several factors that come into play. pet projects, following party line, lobbyists, and flat out corruption with blackmail.

In the press conference we listen tothe lame question about A-Rod and steroids. we have to listen for 3 minutes to BO opine about cheaters.

Hmmm, he placed one as the Head of the Treasury and tried to get 3 more high level appointments.

I was hoping this new guy would "get it." I don't think he does. We are either on the edge or have fallen off. I don't think there is any way to fix this problem. How are they going to sell millions of empty houses, fill thousands of stores, and create millions of jobs paying $20+/hour. Never going to happen. Remember John Lennon, "Well you say you want a revolution..." Well, Washington make just get one. Couple more million loose their jobs... doom!

I think they truely don't get it. The whole idea of spending our way out of debt and out of a recession is ridiculous. Keynsian economics has failed in the past many times, but still the federal government feels this huge responsibility to fix the troubled times that it has created through credit bubbles and out of control spending. They are prolonging the inevitable. The recession must run its course, and Washington's greed and the Federal Reserve should be blamed.

im of the mind that the people in washington didnt grow in america and therefore have no clue what the american people have evolved into being, having been born into freedom.

They make crooked the straight way of liberty and freedom and then twist it into a bad thing.
