Another way of eliminating snipes is when you're cutting through the tree drop your head at the same speed as the tree is falling. Trust me I know what I'm talking about, I've been doing this for 10 seasons.

@shanetegan no it isnr ripping when its cut from the stum thats stump pull it is a slab from the other side of the tree and mills hate it

to have no snipes you have to have both ends of the log supported properly and he isnt sniping that wood because he is bucking short wood and there isnt enought weight out past the head to snipe the tree

how is this thing on fuel? and your not from williams lake by anychance are you? possibly did some work for zapper a few years back?

i drove a 860 tigercat here in aussie with a 622b waratah running a timberite computer i reckon the older heads where better i wander how the 624c are going drove alot of harvesters home in new zealand,driving a dumb valmet now the heads quite alright tho valmet 378e in hardwood with offset rollers pretty fast the design looks just like the waratah.the tigercat is one of the best harvesters iv'e driven so far operator and mechanic friendly

Awesome video, I would love a chance to run a 624 or a 626, I've ran a log max700 and a waratah 622b and the waratah will eat a logmax alive! The new tigercat heads are pretty sweet though but it's still a waratah world

ok so i think you mean ripping the log when it is cut off from the stump
