The PT Cruiser is one of the best designed and built economy car you can buy. They run for ever if you take normal care of them! I am on my second PT which is a 2005. I always buy manual transmissions for obvious reasons. The car gets 31 MPG on the highway and 27 MPG city. The car has AMAZING acceleration and I have taken it to 120 MPH and it would have gone FASTER! This 2005 has 70,000 miles on it and the first one (2001) is still on the road with 200,000 miles!

I'd buy a 300zx way before a pt cruiser any day, but then again, im not gay.

@TheTalonTsi Yeah Im not happy either, however I am a proud owner of my inherited PT cruiser, thanks to my grandfather.

dude.. seriously, I know there's pt lovers out there but anything over 13 seconds is NOT a fast car. Just stop it. Also, that 300z must have been normally aspirated and running on 3 cylinders to be that slow... jeeez

@pcmman3 lol if they last forever, why are you on your second one? Seriously, look up PT Cruiser problems on google and then say they're the best designed lol.

15.3 is a terrible time... a stock Z can easily run 14's.

@julingy Oh, I disagree. The ugliest car ever is the Aztek. THAT's a butt-ugly car!
PT Cruisers are extremely spacious and comfortable inside with lots of storage room. Their turning radius leaves a bit to be desired.

I've seen this car at the track ... It's wicked fast! What I like most about it is that nobody expects it to be that fast ... It's fun keeping people guessing!

pt's are the ugliest vehicles ever invented... its hilariously obvious that the same designer made the HHR... you know the one designed after a cartoon hippo ....
disgusting

I've owned a lot of cars including Mercedes and Cadillac, but the PT Cruiser I bought on a whim during the 'cash for clunkers' program is perhaps the best care ever. No, it does not have automatic this or that, a wood dash, or plush leather seats, but this car is reliable (never needing warranty work of any kind) and fast. I recently drove it to the Grand Canyon. Air conditioning ran cold, the heater ran hot and it was a pleasure to drive all the way.

Nice...I like seeing this. Check this out, my wife has a 2007 PT Cruiser and I posted a video of it going beside a Replica of that Orange Toyota Supra from The Fast & Furious....the video was recently on YouTubes featured page and their homepage.
But please read the description before commenting.
It's a a 2004 PT Cruiser GT. The only modification is the Mopar stage 1 upgrade, which replaces the computer. My best 1/4-mile run was a 14.55. Due to the higher weight, the PT isn't quite as fast as the SRT4, but it's definitely quick. When I beat the Nissan 300ZX, I ran around a 15.3 or so. This was a time trial run, so it was heads-up, not bracket racing.

haha well all it is a SRT4 engine in it s they are pretty fast but that must have been a stock 300zx or actually was it a Twin turbo model? cuz Im not tryin to diss or sound like im baddass but I havent lost yet against a SRT4 and they were very well buit and im running low boost on my turbo 300zx. But what did you run? Ive been wanting to know what I run but the track were I live has closed down (f*ing sucks)
