  • I think that sometimes we forget that Dylan wrote some pretty, great, straight up folk tunes that are timeless. This is one and Ron Sexsmith does it wonderful justice.

    And Sheryl Crow does what she really what she should be doing--singing back up.

  • Beautiful. Ron Sexsmith is effortless.

    Thanks for posting.

  • @jigln I'm sure you're right ......just a perception thing :)

  • @JTKarp WOW you have made this into something that it's not.

    Ron Sexsmith is excellent and we all hope he gets a commercial break, thats it!!!

    as far as other artists that have added to their own notoriety through Ron's work, I am merely stating that, they, knowing that Ron might not recieve much for his work, that they might find it in themselves to "see he does" thats all - No begging, just hoping that one or some of them might find it in themselves to see the man gets paid proper!

  • @jigln ..it sounds like personal experiences may be clouding your vision. In all honesty - from just your original post and now your reply - you sound like someone striving to resolve their own inner frustrations with life by telling 'the world' what their 'serious obligations' ought to be! ...sounds like a recipe for perpetual frustration, don't you think? Begging itself, is demeaning enough.....but to take it upon yourself to do it "on someone else's behalf"? ...well, just not very cool :)

  • @jigln I'm sure your intentions are genuine, but I personally find your "plea" a bit insulting to Ron.....a bit like playing the role of "self-authorized" beggar......Ron's created a great body of music already that will undoubtedly be timeless. "I'm equally perplexed as to why the "world at large" hasn't been lit on fire with his work ..... in my view, it reflects far more on the caliber of the collective conscious of "the world", than on Ron's extraordinarily, penetrating and brilliant work.

  • What concert is this When and where? What a joy!

    @cabronte

  • @PorterUk Yes, but DOES IT Work that way?

    Buble's Record company 'buys' the rights at an arranged price, Ron get's whatever he's 'agreed' with his Record lable, and this might not be much.

  • @jigln So Michael Buble took up this baton and has included a duet of Ron's "Whatever it takes" song. The albums has sold 10+ million. This should translate into a good income for Ron fairly soon.

    I totally agree with your wish and am glad to have seen Buble be the first to help focus the spotlight.

  • can people, especially 'wealthy' music people not have a whip around and ease this man's finacial situation, he's never had a hit song and therefore is always struggling.

    yet he has produced some of the greatest music ever put out there, and is covered by the biggest and greatest names in the world of music.

    FUND him and give him breathing space, too not only continue, but to feel the reward of his beautiful hardwork!!!

    Please.
