This is an instructional/tutorial video for people interested in how I do my work.
This particular piece is that of a similar style and technique to artist Tim Gagnon:

  • with the shadow, what do you mean by a wash of black, because i want to draw a shadow of a tree on my painting,

  • @RoseBubbi a wash is paint that is heavily thinned with water. I do that so the underling greens and yellows of the grass show through slightly and the shadow doesn't look flat.

  • How did you make the background? It's amazing and I really want to know how I could draw it!

  • @TameStrawberry Thick color worked very fast to create a slight blending effect. simple white or off white lines over the darker sections. If you search "Tim Gagnon" it's a modified version of his wetter technique.

  • Really like this painting :) is there any chance you could do a video on what acrylics are the best/decent ones to buy and what you might need to buy with them like thinner or something. Thank you

  • @sexybushboy I'll have one up this friday.

  • This is a Tim Gagnon style!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That tree is mindblowing, good job.

  • @DavosMoon Thank you! : )

  • @jhaley12 you answered your own question. It's about control. I don't have a steady hand, and it's the only way I can get those defined lines.
