Great little distiller
-
can you do this without using the charcoal, and couldnt' u just disill it like 2 more times to get it at around 80% ABV instead of using that high end reflux still?
-
alcohol by volume.
-
please tell me what ABV means? i have no idea what that means. and so just to understand there is 19% aho in the wash, then you distill that and from that 19% you would get 60% pure. and if you want stronger do it all over again.. right?

once the alcahol reaches a certain % it kills off all the yeast thus stopping fermintation. once distilled all your doing is removing water, Store in a mason jar, bottle, or age in a wood barrel....

was just wandering once distilled what is best way to store it,if it has been distilled will it still ferment ,if not could you just store in screw bottles thanks
-
This still seems to be "hot" atm, but I doubt if it's a great way to make alcohol. There is way to much plastic involved. Capacity and fun isn't great either.
But thanks for posting anyway!

theres clearing agents you can add to the wash which helps the solids settle to the bottom of the wash

I have a 5 gallon fermentation bottle (its cheaper than a glass carboy) but there are different kinds of plastics.
I know that solvents such as xylene and toluene wont erode HDPE (like a gallon that milk, or distilled water, or something else is distilled in)
I think you make a good point, when doing this, be sure what works, and wont erode.
yes thats right 40%. They are the best stills you can buy in the uk
