UPDATED - APRIL 1 2011 - 155 KILLED IN ACTION

After listening to those disgusting comments about Canada and our proud military by those idiots on Fox News, this slideshow shows how Canada honors its fallen heros - who have died in Afghanistan - 155 to date - 151 brave men and 4 brave women each and every time they arrive home in Canada - along the government re-named Highway of Heroes between Trenton and Toronto. On December 30, 2009, along with 4 soldiers, a young female Canadian journalist as also killed. As an adult child of a Navy veteran who spent 5 years of his life on the NORTH ATLANTIC in a small corvette during WW 2 fighting the Nazis, you and all your pals should be ashamed!!!! And I am the very proud Aunt of a nephew Mark who, with a Master's Degree in War Studies from the Royal Military College in Kingston Ontario VOLUNTEERED to go and serve in Afghanistan. Canadians are justly outraged. ...OH ...and by the way.. I was never SO PROUD when the Canadian Government made the decision on behalf of Canadians NOT to support YOUR war against IRAQ! That was the right decision as history will show.

  • Good job on the video my friend.

  • @huevon1979 shut up you fucking twat, find a different venue to preach your ridiculous, leftist opinions. These soldiers, some of whom were very close friends of mine and those I had served with, died for what they believed in. They fought because they wanted to. The real enemy is you, people who are so unscrupulous they are willing to hijack the death of a hero in order to try and validate their ultra liberal political views. If you want your opinion to be heard go fucking vote.

  • @jethrodassam oh coarse! but we Canadians should hold ourselves to a higher standard. We have gone into Afghanistan mainly to aid the US. There is no reason why we should be doing this. These Canadian kids that die over there are real people with real lives that have come to an end simply to serve corporate financial interests. Is it worth it?

I get discouraged by how people come across as so sad and upset over these deaths but dont wish to get to the root cause and end the wars.

  • @aristurtle1 #3 should go for the U.S. also.

  • @kurebis1 1. 911 was a result of US foreign policy from the past number of decades, in other words they started it.

    2. What you refer to as defending the weak is usually just the justification put forth by the government to participate in wars for financial gain (Afghan oil pipe, Iraq- oil, Libya- oil etc etc...)

    3. It should not be our job to police the world and spend Canadian resources and lives on other countries anyways. We should have a strong defence here at home instead.

  • @aristurtle1 war will always necessary while there are the weak and defenseless to defend. i wear the uniform for those people who are under the iron fist of an insurgent group. we may die, but it isnt for nothing. we fight in their backyard so they dont come play in ours.

  • @Pwndizzle I am actually also concerned about the fact that there is quite a bit of evidence to suggest that our presence over there may actually encite an attack on Canadian soil.

911 was a reaction to the US foreign policy of the past number of decades where American forces would wage war and prop up dictators for financial gain. This is what creates hatred and terrorism. When we bomb over there and innocents are killed we are provoking furthur attacks.

  • @aristurtle1 no, if terrorists slam planes into your allies buildings, you have NO CHOICE but to back them up, it was necessary for canada to back her ally up in a horrible situation like that. And ontop of that, you bring our soldiers home when the ANA and afghan police forces are properly trained to protect their own country from the taliban, otherwise, everything those canadians soldiers have done would have been for nothing. Ask a canadian soldier, hell tell you the same thing.
