LOL 10 Years lion battery life. Yeah... thats what happens when electrical engineers have to shut up to let the marketingppl sell something to rich squashibrainers.
-
So buy a $100k sportscar and save the environment.

@jason01020 Regular cars produce batteries that go to the hazardous land fill that all cities have. Just google hazardous car batteries or car batteries land fill and see that regular cars produce hazardous batteries just the same as electric and hybrid cars. They all go to the same place. As for fossil fuels, they are not an unlimited resource. Wind and solar are. If only world populations would stabilize....

@henrikmk If chassis, some interior parts is 7% of car I am surprised
-
@gruby676 "I can buy lotus Elise for 15K, sell the engine, buy the electric engines and huge battery set and call it as the brand new car."
The Tesla Roadster shares less than 7% of the parts of the Lotus Elise.
-
I think he was about to also haha but it showed how easy you can fall in love with this car I guess.
-
There came Smartphones and now there is finally a smartcar.
-
@gruby676 either way it beats a huge majority of sports cars all while not using a drop of gas. do that in a shitty lambo
-
@gruby676 It can and should be compared with many exotic cars that are on the market today. The Tesla Roadster is a great alternative to many of them and it is the only all electric main stream sports car on the market today. Next year when they release the Model S Tesla will bring an all electric fast and reliable sport sedan to the market at a price that many luxury car buyers can easily afford. This has been their goal all along.

@TecnamTwin Sorry sir but shitty electric replica of Lotus Elise/ Exige can't be compared with the super cars.
I can buy lotus Elise for 15K, sell the engine, buy the electric engines and huge battery set and call it as the brand new car. The Tesla Motors it's not technology of future it's more than 60 years old technology with huge marketing. I had opportunity to drive the Tesla 2.5 and it was similar experience to accelerate in the local subway. Nothing more nothing else.
Tesla will actually assist you in recycling your batteries. The expected life of the lithium ion battery is at least 10 years!
