this is a must-have for any serious guitar player who wants a small, portable instrument that plays like a big one. while the sound may not compare favorably to that of a full-size guitar, the volume is more than adequate for solitary practice or an intimate unplugged performance. most importantly, the instrument is well intonated, comfortable in the hands and delightful to play. five stars for the Martin Backpacker, my new favorite guitar! :?)

  • Dude your playing skills are amazing!!and amazing go-tee!!!

  • @stevetheurkmanurkel why thank you! it took me many years of practice and experimentation to develop this particular style. to anyone just beginning, i would recommend starting simple and just trimming it a little every day. don't get frustrated if it doesn't come out the way you want it to right away. the trick is to keep yourself motivated and resist the temptation to just give up and shave it off. having the right razor helps too. good luck! ;?)

  • Wonderful video Peter. It made up my mind to buy a Backpacker - and now I've played it - I love it. So, thanks. I love the music too. Mike

  • @mikethebaggie thanks, Mike! i'm glad you enjoy it and it's good to know that my little video played a part in your decision. i don't want to unduly influence people, but i've owned and played a good number of instruments, so when i come across something that's this amazing of a deal, i feel compelled to share. be well, my friend! :?)

  • I think this one sounds better than the Washburn nylon, at least after listening to your video. Maybe it's just your better playing ... I own a Rover 'classical' travel guitar and also one each of the Martin backpackers, the classic (nylon) and the steel string. Fun to drag around, but they all sound like toys compared to my 'real' guitars, ha. All three of mine are great fun to play. Thanks for posting this. :)

  • is the nylon one a thicker neck?

  • @studio2stereo Can I have tabs if you have any for what you played ?? :-)

  • @camalego Lol xD

  • you are nice dude

  • You are ready to play at a Church

  • I love these and I think it has always been a mistake of "compare" these to common guitars, if the instrument is a different shape and size it will of course have a different sound. Nice, thanks for the vid, enjoy the unique sound:)

  • hey i got that tuner! :O and ooooh i always wanted one, once i get the money that guitar is all mine baby! lol
