Back again; I met a former sailor who served on the Albacore. He left the boat before her last patrol. He came to the USS Cod 224. When he came to the Cod, he told us ;" This is the first time I have stepped aboard and entered a submarine since I left the Albacore. I have the patrol logs up to my leaving the boat". He was with a family member. To bad, I did not get his name. After the tour, he departed.

Awesome video. I urge anyone with the slightest interest in WW2 subs to visit one on display and help support the upkeep of their place in our nation's history.

It is interesting to notice that most of the US commanders were somewhat older and in comparison the German U-Boat commanders were in their 20s.

Very moving and fitting tribute. I have always had great respect for the men in the Submarine service back in World War Two and now. My 2nd cousin helped build some of those subs at the base in Groton,Ct. And I have been aboard the USS Croaker and several other WW2 subs. May all those lost crews rest in peace.
