Crazy Bible Stories with Joe Zamecki - Acts 5:1-11

Here's something new I'm trying that seems to be popular enough to become a series.

There are lot of crazy stories in the Bible, and we've all heard about the really well-known among them. I'd like to explore crazy stories in the Bible that we don't hear about often. Stories that even Bible critics may not remember from reading that book, but should.

So here is Crazy Bible Stories with Joe Zamecki. This episode - Acts 5:1-11 - the Murder of Ananias and Sapphira.

Peter was going from town to town gathering up followers for the new religion of Christianity, as well as donations from said followers. He instructed all new members to sell something of theirs and bring all of the money from that sale to him and the new church. The money was to be added to the church's stash of money, which was to be doled out to people in need based on their needs - ala socialism.

The problem with that whole situation was what happened to Ananias and his wife Sapphira. They sold a possession and brought the money from that sale and gave it to the new church, but Peter didn't believe them about it. One at a time, he asked them about it, and they each gave the wrong answer, and were killed on the spot. Despicable!

The fact that there was no one there to shout out how wrong that was only shows the horrible depth of morality that Christianity sinks to in order to exist. This is terrorism for Jehovah and Jesus. God murdered two of his own followers, and Peter took their money. Congratulations proud Christians.
