An electromagnet, as opposed to a permanent magnet, can be switched off and designed to provide greater strength. Find out how to wrap a coil wire to make an electromagnet with help from a science teacher in this free video on electromagnets and physics.

  • Very nice overview. Thanks.

  • DC, AC would make the 2 poles of the magnet continuously switch between each other.

  • how much power do you need? Will a 9v powercell do?

  • good man

  • Thank You

  • Using 66 feet per volt of what ever copper wire size you use, it will not overheat the coil. So for one D cell, 1.5 volts, use 100 feet of wire. #28 wire would be good for that cell.

  • Can someone tell me where I can find his wire mod and phx ?

  • I accuse you to be an ancient laic advocate who insulte religious judge 20 years before ! >:(

  • lets say i want to make something like a magnetic table with 30 by30cm, is it possible to make it with the card board, or it doesn´t work? Thanks.

  • @ashbringer70 the two compents needed for Mass Spec

  • dead clear thanks

  • The best video of electromagnet-making ive seen
