How To Install Windows Without Disk Or Flash Dive

In this tutorial I will show you how to install windows (Any Version) with out inserting the Windows DVD/CD

You will need a ISO / Disk Image of Windows to install it.

The way we will be doing this is by "mounting" the image and installing it. This works with any ISO or disk image.

Tips and warnings if you are installing Windows 7:

If you are using Vista you can simply upgrade to Windows 7 and keep all your files, If you are running XP (IT'S TIME TO UPGRADE!) But you will need to back up your files before installing Windows 7 but it is 110% worth the time ;)

My buddy has windows vista on a laptop. I plan on mounting a windows 7 image and installing it. I never did it this way and i don't want to mess his computer up. So after i mount the image i install it. Should i make a separate partition on the hard drive to install windows 7? I'm afraid if i format the hard drive the virtual disc might get erased and he will be left without an OS. So should i just click the upgrade option then it wont erase anything? let me know as soon as possible thanks!

@bladeboy935 There is nothing to worry about. This is just like using a disk to install Windows. Though, I do see why you would think that. Since you are upgrading the OS and not doing a clean install, no files will be lost.

@TheMatt7000 yeah i had a laptop that had windows seven on it but the screen wouldnt work so i used a back up laptop but it had xp on it same model and year so i just switched the hard drive lol

@cjcossin34 I actually had that problem a LONG time ago when Windows 7 first came out. Look on the website for your modem/router and see if there are any new firmware updates or drivers to install. May help

@cjcossin34 haha no i followed the directions correctly and it wont come up with a wifi signal which i thinks odd lol
