Glimpses of Caracas: At the popular stall which sells "Cachapas" in the "La Feria de Los Sabados de Los Palos Grandes" (Saturday Market of Los Palos Grandes neighbourhood) in Caracas, Saturday, 15 January, 2011. Cachapa is one of the most popular native and traditional food items of Venezuela. It is made with fresh corn which is ground and then mixed into a thick batter and cooked like pancakes on a flat metal plate (budare). Cachapas are generally eaten with "Queso Telita" (Telita Cheese) or "Queso del Mano" (Hand-made Cheese). It is common in Venezuela to see restaurants/roadside stalls selling this popular vegetarian food. Here one can see that people are standing in a queue and waiting for their turn to eat the hot Cachapas.
