September 16, 2010: Warning: They touch the art with their hands. Three adorable little kids run around and have fun at the end of Fay Chandler's Art Opening at the Boston Center for the Arts Cyclorama. Too Cute for Words.

  • Those kids are a riot haha xD they're really enjoying the trash can. Ahh, to be a little toddler again.

  • @GuitaristAndTheGhouI I was trying not to laugh as I was shooting the video. How entertaining a simple thing like a trash can can be.

  • I love kids, they were cute, but:

Parenting is such a full time job. Especially with three pre-schoolers. How that parent expected to be able to enjoy the art, interact with other adults and watch the kids all at the same time so they wouln't get into mischief is beyond me. Not an appropriate venue for them to run and play. No matter how well behaved they generally are it only takes a moment for an innocent disaster to strike. One uh-oh and you've purchased a broken piece of fine art.

  • @lloydhofer There were people all around watching them. I thought they were adorable and kept smiling as I was making the video. I believe children should be exposed to art as young as possible. I enjoyed them and would never discourage a child from running around, exploring, and being a kid. The parents did have their eyes on the kids. Notice that they were shown affection or disciplined appropriately. I just found out the children are Fay's great-grandchildren.

  • @yvettegr I agree that they seemed to be shown tolerance and affection. I also don't believe in censorship. They were a hoot to watch. If I were there I would have been playing with them. I wonder though about what might have been if 3 or 4 sets of parents all brought in 3 or 4 kids and let them run loose as thse kids were allowed to. I don't think of it as discouragement from childish curiosity or play as much as appropriate respect for the venue on the part of the parents.

  • @lloydhofer The venue had cleared out from 300-400 people earlier, and the children weren't running around then. I think everyone showed appropriate respect for Fay's work. I think she's an extraordinary artist, as did everyone there. Remember, these are her great-grandchildren and I think that's why they were there. They were well-behaved the entire time. No screaming, no tantrums. Just plain little kid fun. They were delightful to watch and were a perfect end to a wonderful evening.

  • Für eine Menge Dinge. Benjamin Fulford.

  • @yvettegr Just sent you a PM about the kids. Sounds like my concerns were well met and I just didn't realize it. Glad that you were delighted with them and now wish I had trusted your sensibility about them more. I was too reactive to what I simply saw on your vid. Lesson learned.
