The government is the one the major reasons healthcare cost rising in the first place by taking the patient out of the equation. No one knows what it costs for a procedure.

GOP wanted to trim Medicare or Medicaid by 10 billion and the Dems want to trim it by 500 billion and the Dems hollered about the 10 billion dollars the Republicans wanted to cut.

Now you are looking at a bill that will cost in excess of a trillion.

I work in a community hospital and I see Medicaid waste daily. People come in and their stay on average is longer than others with private insurance. All the tests that are run and the noncompliance is just frustrating. I believe that everyone is equal but, that is not true in this case. Most other hospitals will do an ekg cardiac markers and if that is ok they will send them home. Not here, they keep them four or 5 days. When my mom had a mastectomy they sent her home in 3. According to the Frayser Inst., the average wait time for a oncology in Canada is 4.9 weeks, mind you this is to see an oncologist, not start treatment. Here in the states where oncology is FOR PROFIT, one can start treatment after consultation the same day! The average wait for nuerosurgery was 31.9 weeks! Why is Cleveland Canada's hip replacement capital? Prince Edward Islanders have to wait an average of 30 weeks to get an MRI!

@VictoryCough Are you kidding. The us system is riddled with wait times due to the insurance industry. People with insurance are refused financial support. Your health care system sucks because its for profit.

Far below in what? Patient satisfaction? Who would have thought people would be happy to get free things? They're happy, but compared to what? It's a crime to seek medical services from a private doctor should you decide to not put up with the government's waiting time. How can you say that is a free society?

The US has never had an access problem, only inflated costs. Now after this reform we will have access problems.

why? why? I have 93 seizures a year, cannot drive etc. I take 6 grams of drugs a day, $940 a month, the australian government pays for this and visits to my neurologist. In your country I would have zilch, no help, worse health and be less able to contribute to society. Follow jesus example help the poor and sick.

I have looked up the different health care results. The reason people love to quote cancer survival rates is that it is one area where the U.S. ranks at or near the top. On other areas it ranks in the middle & still others it ranks near the bottom. Overall it ranks near the middle.

It ranks last in universal access.
