Guiding Light - November 1982 - Silas Returns

Mrs. Renfield goes to Nola's room with tea. Nola says that Quint is in bad shape. Mrs. Renfield says that while she normally doesn't interfere, she feels she must because she cares for Quint and is devoted to his welfare and that she wants him to find happiness. Then she says she feels Nola holds the key to that happiness.

Nola doesn't answer and Mrs. Renfield asks if she loves him. Nola says she does, that she never thought she could love anyone like she loves Quint. Mrs. Renfield assures her that Quint feels the same and the love her feels for her is stronger than what he's felt for any other woman before. Nola tells her it doesn't seem that way sometimes. Mrs. Renfield says that the love is a new discovery, that he's both exhilarated and confused and in his confusion, he doesn't always respond the way Nola wants him to. Nola says that the point is that he doesn't trust her and that she doesn't understand him. Mrs. Renfield asks if she has to understand him to love him. Mrs. Renfield tells Nola to go to him and let him know she loves him simply for the man he is because he needs her. Nola hugs Mrs. Renfield and leaves the bedroom.

Quint is in the study sitting at his desk and Nola walks in. His head is down and she watches him for several seconds before he realizes she's there. Once he senses her presence, he looks up, then stands. Nola walks further into the room and Quint walks around his desk and toward her. They embrace and kiss, then embrace again. As Quint holds her he asks her to promise she'll never leave him because he couldn't bear losing her, he needs her so much. She promises she won't leave. Then she asks him to promise that he'd never put himself in a position where she could lose him like he did that night. He tells her that's a promise he can easily keep.

The phone rings and Quint goes to answer it. Silas Crocker is on the other end and tells Quint that he owes him and that one day he will pay. He tells Quint he's coming back for him and if he marries Nola, he'll make her a young widow. Quint hangs up and Nola asks him who was on the phone. He tells her it was no one important.

  • Just once I would love for Quint to have said, "Just f**k off, Silas," and hang up.

  • @vcaldwellable Definitely agree with you about that hug. Nola and Mrs Renfield really became great friends. Violet was really devoted to Quinton and was really happy when he finally found his great love in Nola. Nola was growing up and finding true love

  • I am glad she turned back to hug Violet! Lisa is a class act! Nola's act of hugging Violet displays Nola's respect, gratitude for sound advice and maturity. A younger woman would have just "bounced" out of the room to her prize. any thoughts?

  • Yes,i would agree Michael is a good kisser, but I'll never tell how i found out.Let's just say he had never left a woman un-satisfied. i wouldn't mind a kiss from him that he share with lisa brown.

  • nola finally confronts Quint and professes hear love to him silently.

  • Good gracious, those two were good kissers! Which is a good thing, since it was about all that they ever managed before the phone would ring or someone would walk in on them. :=)

  • Wow! What chemistry between Lisa Brown and Michael Tylo. You would think they would have been a real couple even off screen. Cannot believe that Lisa was actually married to Tom Nielsen (Floyd Parker) in real life. That kiss always makes me sigh. I love it and am anxious to see more.

  • what a kiss

    I'm loving it........sigh
