the part from 40 seconds uses the same chords as Pachelbel's canon in d, lol i've just watched a video about that, it's on the homepage of youtube

if you cant get get lessons watch vidoes like this and stuff eric johnson does and watch the fingerwork. dont expect to be able to get it fast just see what other people do.

hey thats amazing!how do u do that, because im a beginner guitarist (16) i'm not getting lessons but i know the fundamentals, so im not bad at strumming and knowing my chords (except barré chords which i cant do!) tlk soon

I play slide guitar with m fingers to. But damn it hurts aster a few minutes. Got some tips?

Sorry for the late response--callouses is the only answer--practice regularly, stop before cutting into the fingers... My callouses are about equal between fretting and picking hands...
