It might be this Lotus Carlton is the same car from the famous police chase in Sweden.
The Police tried to stop this car with a Saab turbo......

People just look at the prices of used stock E39 M5 and a Lotus Omega. Thank you. If you are lucky you are find some Lotus from 25.000 E, M5 is already from 10 000 E.

@donkmeister Also to be fair, 370 horsepower (or whatever the Carlton had) isn't hard from a 3.6 litre turbocharged engine, not even at the time it was made. It's far harder to make 400 horsepower from a 5 litre naturally aspirated v8. :)

That BMW will never have the 'cult status' the lotus carlton has no matter how much money you pour into it. Theres just something about a lotus carlton that people loved and still do all these years later.

BMW are awesome especially e39 model, surely a future classic, it has alot of street cred and looks good to. the carlton is a vauxhall! and vauxhalls arent hot even with its lotus badge it looks like a grandad car..
