Recording artist and touring musician Ken Verheecke was kind enough to stop by and play a couple of his favorite guitars from us. Ken has purchased both a Taylor 512CE NG and Eastman 522CE from Haggertys Musicworks and loves both guitars. He wanted to do a comparison video to showcase the similarities and differences between both guitars. Although the Taylor is his dream guitar, the Eastman delivers a stunning sound at a third of the cost.

  • I have to disagree with hawg427 about Martin guitars being better for fingerpicking than Taylors. I really want to like the Martins but they sound muddy to me 4 out 5 I try while the Taylors are the opposite. The brighness and action of the Taylors allow for a playing experience much more accommodating to than Martins. I have not however tried Eastmans so will have to give them a look.

  • @ThroughFallenEyes Indeed... it comes down to personal preference.

  • @BillEvans1956 Hi Bill... I am using a Keyser (full capo) and a Shubb Partial Esus capo.

  • @hawg427 I think it comes down to personal preference ;-)

  • @powermrkkk Very true... hence the reason why I have one :-)

  • @seattlecard Agreed... wonderful guitars!

  • @seattlecard I LOVE mine too :-)

  • This Eastman is awesome!! Love the 522 CE

  • Eastman sells its guitars at a very reasonable prices!!

  • @ThroughFallenEyes If your into fingerpickin just buy a Martin, which IMHO blows Taylor out of the water. In our old church all the guitarists had Taylors which do not sound bad, but when you put a Martin HD-28 next to the Taylor Taylor just loses that tone battle. The Martins are a louder guitar also, that's why it's used in Bluegrass bands. I personally love my Martin HD-28.
