  • @AlexUzmann I'm a conservative Christian who loves this series and gave it a thumbs up.I hope you realize that your stereotyping people and mocking their beliefs is divisive and intolerant. Why would you come to this video stirring up anger and hate? Can't you just let people relax and enjoy a video? Are you that close minded? Carl Sagan is one of my heroes and I was truly saddened by his death.

  • Again, I have no scientific or mathematical understanding. But Carl Sagan has inspired me to read science fiction. And I will do everything in my power to support a future that may be like this for our human race.

  • I dunno nature seems to trim away psychotic unsustainable behavior, just look at our society were about to go through a peak oil collapse in a year or so and we cant even seem to get out of Low earth Orbit. I think societies that make it into space will have to be peacefull and co-operative enough leap over the technological barriers that require much thought, sacrifice and intelligence.

  • I'm with S. Hawking on this one: aliens are to be avoided at all cost

  • i bet to two dislikes where from conservative christain republicans

  • @tabrisangel19

    Agreed.

Fiction is subtle truth interwoven into a tapestry of fantastic lies. Hard-asses will regularly dismiss its relevance in our lives, but so long as we are able to distinguish its aesthetic details from its wisdom, and so long as we are able to extract reality from its symbolic metaphors, fiction can do no harm.

It's those who believe in fiction with a passion that cause much of the world's anguish.

  • This section makes me madly love science fiction. We all need to read more of it to encourage a flexibility of mind for the future. Science Fiction FTW!!!

  • @smartwarlord The Ukraine was a conquered territory of the Russian Empire. With its own distinct culture, language, and history. His father was a Ukrainian Jew from the Russian empire.

  • @blindandwatching

Ukraine did not exist at the time, so his father was indeed, as I said, a Russian Jew.

  • @smartwarlord Samuel Sagan born 1905 was Carl's father. He was of Ukrainian ancestory not Russian.

Rachel Molly Gruber Sagan born 1907 was of Austrian ancestory. Both were Jewish. Sagan described himself as an agnostic.
