@alxxz I see Gradius V as being a different series its music style is not like a normal Gradius game the enemy formations are similar to R-Type and the game really abuses the option types too much because of the stage designs and enemy formations.
Gradius IV odd as it sounds people seem to think Konami was half assing on this game I don't think so Konami never half ass anything.
If you think Life Force(Salamander) on the NES was good try the Arcade original but beware of Center Core.
@alxxz I like that one too and the boss name is Gillador.
But in loop 3 this stage is hell.
I've been on a video rampage but haven't uploaded anything yet right now i'm uploading the third stage of Gradius 1 next will come Xexex (J) Intro and stages 1,2.
To be honest Gradius IV is the one in the series that I've played the least on my PS-2. It looks quite different. I’ll have to give it another try…
But Life Force on the NES is by far my favorite and one of the 1st shmups I played and completed back in 1990! Endless shooting sessions with my mates! I’ve also completed Gradius II on the PCE, but that’s about it. Gradius V is magnificent, but I haven't had time to complete it yet...
@alxxz This is Gradius IV 1999 the PS2 re-release of the Arcade original but unlike the SNES Gradius III its not altered in a way besides Wait Time(slowdown).
That green ship resembles the enemy ship on the original Gradius boxart.

Oh and speaking of Gradius IV, this fire Stage is my favorite level in the game and that worm Boss is so cool!

This is probably one of the finest fire stages in any shooter imo.

Looking forward to your new Gradius IV videos when it’s complete! Those 30hours+ of gameplay ought to be a pretty interesting view indeed!
Always great meeting another shmup fan!
By the way, do you post at shmups forums?
