How to Activate MMS on iPhone 3G or 3Gs Firmware 3.1 only (no Jailbreak)

First download the File Here: http://uploading.com/files/175mdaef/ATT_US.ipcc/

Now Make Sure itunes is closed and not running.

On Mac:

1. Close iTunes if it is open
2. Start Terminal (Applications - Utilities)
3. Run the following command:

defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE

On Windows:

1. Go to Start - Run (
2. type in command and hit enter
3. Type/copy+paste this into the command console that comes up: C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1
4. Hit enter

Now Open iTunes and connect iPhone 3G or 3Gs.
Hit option + Restore on Mac
Shift + restore on Windows

Find ATT_US.ipcc file and open it.

Something should come up on your screen and then go off now reboot your phone and your done.

There is an update through iTUnes but you need 3.1 firmware just go update on itunes

AT&T is launching a update through iTunes today so be on the look out, it will update the carrier settings to let you send and receive MMS.

OKay Guys.. Sorry you guys are experiencing these problems... I have a iPhone 3G and i was on the iPhone Data Package for a 2g iPhone so the MMS feature had a block on it on AT&T's Side... The same thing was happening to me when i was trying to send a MMS from my 3g the little red ! was coming out... So what i did was called AT&T and i told them that i wasn't able to send MMS and they went in and updated my account after i gave them My IMEI number for the iPhone 3g.. & right after it worked.

You have to go to settings and open mms.

When u open it make sure the mms messaging is turned on. Then it should work I'm in Memphis TN area.
