Hello Coastlcnc,
Very good job on your laser machine.
I have a laser machine ( a little bit smaller than yours), but my intention is to cut model airplane parts, like you're doing.
-
I saw you're using mach3 to control your machine. I also use mach3 on mine.
Doubts:
-Are you using the Z dir axis to control the laser trigger, or using the G-code command (M10Px, M11Px) to control it?
-It was you who draw those airplane formers? (what a beautifull formers profile)
-Which software you're using to draw and to convert the files from DXF to PLT?
-
@coastalcnc PDF files are not good but post script files from adobe, which can be made easily should be useful, they are files used fir laser printers so they could be adapted to do the job...

Great machine. It would be nice to had it years ago.

Hi, How do I cut 1/8" plywood from PDF file?
Thanks.
Phil.
PDF files are raster you need a vector file to cut.
so PDF files need to be redrawn to PLT or dxf to cut.
There are some converter programs available to do this but the results are poor
to unusable.
The best results are got from importing the pdf and tracing it in auto cad or similar.
