@themaytagrepairman Do you know why it didnt last? Because its a great feature for any dryer. I used to service large capacity commercial washers & dryers. Most of the dryers used by nursing homes & hospitals were reverse tumble. If F&P were smart, they would of start producing front load laundry equipment with the same technology they use in their top loads. But being a former tech with them, being smart was never their strong point.

There is an incorrect statement here. Frigidaire had reverse tumbling years ago. It didn't last, but they did have it none the less.

@unclebigcats This was another huge mistake by Fisher & Paykel. They shouldn't have rushed to get the top loading dryer on the market until all the kinks were ironed out. And to make matters worse, they should of owned up to the lint filter problems and issued a recall. This is a major fire hazard. Otherwise, this is a really great dryer. Some friends and family members of mine have purchased it and they absolutely love it. I showed them how to vacuum & replace lint filter. So not having problem

@psandollar Don't EVER buy a Fisher & Paykel dish drawer dishwasher! I think I've bought mine almost three times in repairs!

Great idea...I love the concept of the reverse tumbling. But I would never buy any F-P product again since our dryer started giving us problem after problem 3 years after purchase! First the heating element had to be replaced; now they say we need a new thermostat and a new bearing. The lint collects badly behind the white "holey" face plate, making it necessary to remove that to get to the lint. Maybe a total rework would make it a good product, but not the model we have!

To add, a low airflow condition by lint build-up means the dryer does not 'breathe' as it should and a high temp. condition causes the thermostat to trip.

How will an owner of this machine know when their Lint filter ring has been ripped/torn? Answer: you don't know!! I've had mine rip and pass lint into the outlet ducting along with my exterior ducting out of my house. This 'choked' the airflow of the dryer which in turn caused one of the thermostat's to trip. When tripped, by design the dryer gas solenoid remained off meaning no heat! Huge Achilles heel to otherwise an innovatively designed dryer.
