http://www.TheProspectingExpertBlog.com/ Don't start a question with "I was wondering". It makes you sound confused. Look up the word "wondering" in the dictionary. The word means to "convey doubt". Do you want to place doubt in the mind of the the prospect? Of course you don't.

With this call the sales person asked the question, "Are you going to be reviewing your telephone equipment anytime in the next year?" This question is not very effective because it is closed. With a question like that it's too easy for the prospect to say no. It would be much more effective to ask open ended questions that begin with "who", "what", "when", "where" and "how". It allows the prospect to open up. A question such as, "What are the biggest issues you are experiencing with your telephone equipment?"

What are your thoughts about this call?
