Sim: Flight Simulator X
Location: San Juan, Puerto Rico
Airplane: Level-D Simulations 767
Textures: REX 2.0 & X Graphics
Land Mesh: FSGenesis
Weather: ASA

The end of a flight between Chicago (KORD) and San Juan (TJSJ). Dusk descent on the BEANO1 arrival and landing at Luis Munoz Marin International Airport. The flight was done entirely over the VATSIM Network. If you don't know what VATSIM is, I definitely recommend checking it out at www.vatsim.net. If you are also in need of a VA, a virtual airline, to fly with, I recommend American Virtual Airlines, one of the top airlines on the VATSIM network. You can check them out at www.joinava.org.

Couple things regarding the video, FSRecorder created a small error, about the :35 second mark. You'll see/hear it. Secondly, there are two areas within the video that lost sound, each for 3-5 seconds. Once I hit the Sound Off Key for some reason and the second was when FRAPS was transitioning to another file to continue recording. FRAPS tops out at 4GB before it has to switch to another file to continue recording, that is at the 8:30 mark.

As far as framerates go, everyone knows or at least should, that FRAPS can eat alive FPS. I typically have my frames locked in FSX at 20 and it doesn't budge while doing a usual flight. FRAPS can put a hurting on it though, the lowest I reached in this video, with FRAPS running and full sliders, minus traffic, was 10 FPS. Considered running at 33%-50% speed, which can greatly increase FPS while recording, that does give me 20 FPS while recording, but decided against it due to the enlarged disk space required to record the entire descent.

Enjoy.

  • Some good info to increase realism: you should approach SJU at 200kts below 3000, flaps clean. Crossover Levittown rivermouth at 1600 AGL 200kts Flaps 1 heading 140. For Rwy 08/10 Lagoon visual, intercept ILS 10. When TJIG is at your 9, flaps 5 down to 180 kts. @ 5 miles out, slow to 160, flaps 10, gear down. As you approach, lower your speed to landing speed, gradually extend flaps. You should have Flaps 30/40 at or above 800 ft.

  • The video quality was amazing, the landing was amazing, everything was just perfect. Very amazing video. Favourited, highly rated and commented. ^_^

  • I just love the "realism" in this video. Imagine the virtual world in 20 years time? :D

  • @falconwings good shit mane

  • @911shan, aha what?

  • @Luclidor, yes flown it many times full scale.

  • @falconwings aha?

  • Great video . Which are your hardware?

  • REX 2.0 = the best add-on ever created for FSX.

  • @falconwings Don't mind GameNewbie. I live in PR and I've done this approach many times. That lagoon has a long bridge although it doesn't show up in FSX. Have you flown that approach in real life? You seem to know what you're talking about.

  • flaps extended too high

  • @falconwings no one cares
