Martha Goldman Sigall worked at MGM and Hanna-Barbera. In part 1, she talks about the beginnings of Tom and Jerry, the closing of MGM's cartoon studios, and the founding of Hanna-Barbera.

Hanna-Barbera became the leading cartoon studio from the 1960s through the 1980s. They created the Jetsons, Flintstones, Magilla Gorilla, Top Cat, Scooby Doo, the Smurfs, Snagglepus, Powerpuff Girls, and many others.

Yes! Mrs.Sigall..the title of that first "Tom & Jerry"MGM movie cartoon is"Puss Gets The Boot"..but "Tom Cat" was called"Jasper Cat"..not "Tom"and "Jerry didn't have a name at the start of the series.
