the fluid liquid the girl used to write on the desk was from 1999. so when she wrote on the desk in 1979, it only appears in 1999, because it was never invented yet.

one thing i don't get is how when she was writing on the desk and the words were popping up as jay was sitting at the desk...

wouldn't that mean that both the girl and jay were sitting on the same chair at the same time?
