Even as a lifelong Ranger fan, and I've watched since right after Brodeur made his start when I was 5, and as someone who's always hated him and said he's overrated and benefitted from the Trap, and the defense in front of him, and the 17 shots a game average that he'd faced for most of his career, and the benefit of the last 5 seasons after the lockout when he has the shootout wins..........
I have to give The Devil his Due. Congrats, Marty. You'll always be the greatest thing we hate.

thats not the point, im making an anology.. brodeur is better in the regular season = presidents trophy.. roy is better in the playoffs = stanley cup.. id rather have a goalie get me to the playoffs and then play at a conn symthe level, than have one that could earn me a no.1 seed but fail in the finals..

The wins record is the holy grail of goaltending records.
It is comparable to the goals and points record, its a credit to Brodeur's incredible conditioning and talent.
Of course, Brodeur will continue to break records while haters continue to draw at straws to try to make them seem less impressive then they really are.
