A frighting psychopath

Why do so many documentaries have stupid background music nowadays ?? This is a great post and a very interesting subject but which moron thought, 'i know what will make this more interesting, howabout we add some corny dramatic background music', it must be an american thing, but it detracts from the documentary for me ....
