Directed and edited by award-winning documentary filmmakers David and Albert Maysles, this overview of The Calhoun School in Manhattan, c. 1984, still captures the essence of the school's progressive approach to education and learning -- with only some minor differences: the school has since opted out of AP classes, in keeping with progressive educational philosophy, and the overall facility and student population has almost doubled. But small class sizes and one-on-one relationships with teachers still deliver the school's signature hands-on, experiential learning environment.
I am currently going to calhoun, it's great to see some of my teachers in this video

it's not as pretentious as they make it out in this viedo. i went there for 15 years. it was amazing and i knew most of the people in this video. my only regret is i think they taught me too much. i had an almost college level education even with average grades.
