In this video, I demonstrate how to make the paper mache paste. The method that I use is one that I learn growing up back in Mexico. This method consist in mixing flour and water and boiling the mixture. By boiling the mixture, the paste better creating an outer layer that is stronger then if you mix flour and water only. Further more, is totally green and completely inexpensive compared to Elmers glue or wall paper paste. Also it has been proven that can last hundreds of years.

  • Can this be used as a plaster substitute like when your plastering someones face to make a cast of there face. Or will it take too long to dry?

  • only water and flower .. in my country we also use casaba and water ... to make our carnaval mask is cool and it gets really hard you dont need salt ... to make sure your paste is good put it in the freezer

  • Thanks for that information. When it's cooled down, how long will it stay usable? Does it dry in the container overnight? Is it best to keep it in a seal-able container if you're not gonna use it all up that day?
