This is a Greek Song Patrida Mou/My Homeland
by Notis Sfakianakis . This is dedicated to all Christians of Iraq. Long Live The Chaldean Nation

They sat to the beches of shame,
pretending to talk, but in reality, to hide.
Yet, there the courageous coming
the wings have opened infront of "backdoors"
they stood and they shouted again
"Come and get it".
It's not a myth, don't fool yourselves
in our days you (warriors) are lost but
not forgotten in these hard and dark times.

Singing

That morning
as if it didn't want to dawn
and the day was afraid to come
as if the sun didn't want to shine
not to see the evil who was coming.
The birds they've hidden in their nests
they felt the great evil
the thousands of breaths
and at once the cards of the wise ones
where wrapped up in tongues of fire.
Lightnings and thunders
score cold-bloodedly your body
Rabid dogs
want to rip again
your land like flesh.
Lightnings and thunders
score cold-bloodedly your body
Rabid dogs
want to rip again
your land like flesh.
My beloved homeland
which curse is onto you, how much loneliness
Your children chosento death
pledged inside the loneliness
My homeland

Narration

Where are you lads?

Singing

That morning
as if Aurora did not want to show
the down's daylight colours
as if the sun did notwant to give
so as not to see the blood on the bodies
shouts that were shouting "AERA" (battle shout)
we will remember that day
the lost homeland
To the bosom of Greece untill when
will lair traitor leaders?
Lightnings and thunders
score cold-bloodedly your body
Rabid dogs
want to rip again
your land like flesh.
Oh Greece sad, alone and glorified
how much I love you
Our heroes asking from us not to give
(to the enemies) to "eat" more (land) share.
My homeland...

Narration

We struggled, we gave battles, we've won them.
To the top of knowledge, yes, we stood.
And it was then when on us fell barbarians (traitors)
and all those "poor devils" and fools, to "hear" us.
But we gave birth to (warriors as) Kolokotronis and Karaiskakis.
(After them) We game birth at who? Where are you LADS?
Why and how you could be forgotten?
This is the lament which creates ANGER on (our) lips.
To the bosom of Greece untill when
will lair traitor leaders?

Singing

My homeland how much I love you,
My homeland how much I love you...

  • GOD BLESS ALL IRAQI CHRISTIANS OUT THERE.You guys are natives of iraq and will always be.Its sad that this fucking war is driving all types of iraqis out of their homeland.I wish and pry that iraq as a united country can have all people live in harmony and peace where all iraqis can coexist and live in peace side by side as it used to be decades ago.

Kisses to all my iraqi christians and other types of iraqis out there :)

Many God Blesses to all of you from an iraqi :)
