Shiver ~68

Everyone disappeared once we realized what Cal was doing. Apparently.. it was easier for him to mind screw with someone than physically beat them up.
"He's using mind control on him?" Jenna asked from the bathroom.
The water was running for a shower and steam was coming from the room.
"I honestly didn't think he'd decide to go that far... I heard Dana tried to apologize to her before she left with Hath. Cal heard it and he thought it wasn't enough.. so now he's going to.. something with his mind and what not."
"Good. He shouldn't.. that douche bag has made her more than miserable."
My eyes wandered to the lace shirt, and black bra that made it to the floor in front of the bathroom door. Was she trying to kill me?
"I'm not sure it matters much... Cal's gone mind trippy." I said, getting up and pulling my shirt off.
"Mind trippy?"
"You know... his freaking mind tricks," I said walking into the bathroom and pulling off my jeans. She was already in the shower, steam covering the glass doors. "He's crazy good at mind games. He can compulse or trance anyone.. He can even change your thoughts while you're in mid thought. And he can read your mind. He's got some crazy sick powers."
I slipped myself into the shower and looked at her for a second, her hands in her hair and full of suds. I moved closer to her and wrapped my arms around her.
"Has he... ever done any of that to Evalina?"
"I'm sure in a playful way he has.. But literally? I don't think so."
"Has he ever used his mind tricks on you?"
"Once." I said, kissing her shoulder.
"Once? For what.. nothing bad I hope."
"When I found out about my parents.. I went crazy on the real estate agent who had decided to ask me if I wanted to sell the house. I killed him in one movement and Cal had to stop me before I walked out onto the street and started ripping people apart." I said to her.
She really didn't know how crazy I could get.

"You're seriously telling me Cal makes you paranoid?" Charlotte looked at me.
"No, he doesn't.. when he's fucking around with someone's mind then I find a reason to be paranoid."
"Cal wouldn't intentionally screw around with your mind. He respects you too much." she said.
"Have you seen Evalina recently? It's been two days since you hung around with her and she's waddling."
"She's getting big fast."
I flipped another page in the book I was reading, and then Charlotte took it out of my hands, throwing it onto the couch in my room.
"You're going to be a great Uncle to Evalina and Cal's baby."
"I just want to make sure I will be.. I'm awkward around people."
"He's going to be a baby though, Zhander. You'll be quite fine with him. I promise."
I sighed, closing my eyes and leaning back against the many pillows on my bed.
"Zhander.."
"Yes?"
"You're not awkward around people." she said.
"I wish that was true.. but it isn't." I said.
She dropped the subject after I turned silent.
